[Solved] Tunneling data from one computer through another?

Hello, this is a kinda problem that I don't know the terminology for, so I've been having a hard time searching.

Basically, I have a computer separated from the rest of the network by an internet connection. But I want to be able to encrypt and tunnel as much data as possible from that computer so that it goes through that network. With my rudimentary understanding of how this works, it sounds like something that a VPN is used for, but I've been looking into and figuring out OpenVPN, and it seems more to allow a computer to access this network remotely -- it doesn't do the tunneling part.

Am I missing something obvious about how to set it up, or can anyone point me to what I need to look at to get this working?

if i understand correct then what you want is to have e.g. a OpenVPN server (you can of course also use any other VPN system) setup in your network and the single PC then will connect to this server via internet as client 'road-warrior mode'.
Means the client sends everything through the tunnel to the network behind.
Should be as easy as having the clients routing table configured in a way that the client uses the VPN server as default gateway.
