I just upgraded to rrdtool 1.2.28 from 1.2.27-r1 and suddenly the network traffic graphs in cacti were showing about 100x actual throughput. I downgraded to the previous version and the stats returned to normal, but now my graphs are all out of whack because cacti scales them based on the highest results in the range, so I have one HUGE peak, and the rest of my traffic is a tiny unreadable line at the bottom.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

edit: in case it's relevant to anyone, I'm running cacti ver 0.8.7b-r2

We had problems as well.. no fonts within the graphs (even after providing a valid path via cacti). Upgrading to 1.3.3 got our graphs back.

There's a new 0.8.7b-r3 version of cacti. Anyone know if this works properly with the new snmpd?

I upgraded to 1.3.3 but today I see it was removed in favor of 1.3.4. After upgrade, I'm seeing the following errors in the error_log.

Code:
(process:13950): Pango-CRITICAL **: pango_context_load_font: assertion `pango_font_description_get_family (desc) != NULL' failed
(process:13950): Pango-CRITICAL **: pango_context_load_font: assertion `pango_font_description_get_family (desc) != NULL' failed
(process:13954): Pango-CRITICAL **: pango_context_load_font: assertion `pango_font_description_get_family (desc) != NULL' failed
(process:13954): Pango-CRITICAL **: pango_context_load_font: assertion `pango_font_description_get_family (desc) != NULL' failed

Graphs are rendering fonts correctly though? Any ideas?

Thanks!

According to this thread setting the default font for rrdtool in cacti config may help.

Yeah, I was able to make that work on a CentOS 4.x system, but I'm more concerned as to why it's miscalculating the network traffic.
