Topic pretty much says it all. I would normally try the latest nvidia-drivers (177) but that one stops supporting my card.

here's the error message:
Code:

/var/tmp/portage/x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-173.14.12/work/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-173.14.12-pkg2/usr/src/nv/nv-linux.h:107:27: error: asm/semaphore.h: No such file or directory

is there some new option enabled in 2.6.27 that I need to disable (or vis versa) to get the driver to build?

Timmer,

You need a patch and to copy the ebuild to your overlay and patch the ebuild. The patch is in this bugand seems to work for all driver versions.

I know it works for 173.14.12 too as I talked someone through the process in #gentoo on Friday.

Post back if you need more detail

Thanks. That did it.

And now I've learned how to apply a patch to boot (and a refresher on local overlays)
