I downloaded the LiveCD for i686, however, it won't boot. I suspect my burner or a corrupt download. I've generated a md5 checksum of the .iso, but can't seem to find one on the Gentoo site to compare it to. The manual says that one is provided, but doesn't say where. It didn't come with the .iso when I downloaded it.
And yes, the bios checks the CD drive before the HD, and other bootable CD's are working.
Thanks for your help with this stupid question!

If you look on the mirror from where you downloaded the tarball, there is a file in the same directory as the stage that ends in ...tar.bz2.DIGESTS which contains the md5sum. |

Thank you. I had downloaded from the link on the "Get Gentoo" page, which didn't show the "digests" file. I much appreciate the quick response as I have limited time to do this. You made my day! |
