My laptop has an Intel WLAN chip, which runs with the iwlagn module. In the router settings I have enabled 802.11n mode. The kernel version 2.6.26 uses the iwl4965 module, which is replaced by the iwlagn module in the kernel 2.6.27. But there I can't find an option for the high-speed data transfer.
iwconfig shows me:
Code: |
wlan0 IEEE 802.11abgn ESSID:"NETWORK"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.432 GHz Access Point: 00:18:4D:0F:EF:64
Bit Rate=36 Mb/s Tx-Power=15 dBm
Retry min limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr=2352 B
Encryption key:KEY [2] Security mode:open
Power Management:off
Link Quality=100/100 Signal level:-48 dBm Noise level=-96 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
|
The Bit Rate varies, but is always below 54 MB/s, which brings me to the conclusion, that I don't use the new 802.11n standard. Is there a good possibility to verify which mode I use and what is supported by my wlan-card? _________________ DELL Latitude 5550 intel Core i5-5300 CPU @ 2.30GHz

Hi, you should check iwlist, I think that you can have some info about your actual router and also about your Wifi card. |
