|
|
I've just updated to latest version in portage of vmware-player. It loads ok, but when I try to run any of my virtual
machine I get the following
Quote: | VMware Player Error:
VMware Player is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured for your running kernel. To (re-)configure it, your system administrator must find and run "vmware-config.pl". For more information, please see the VMware Player documentation.
Press "Enter" to continue...
|
vmware-config.pl is not installed (perhaps obsolete?), so I ran emerge --config vmware-player but the problem persist.
I also tried to reinstall vmware-modules.
I did run etc-update for the matter.
Any idea?

"vmware-config.pl" should live somewhere in /opt/vmware or the like. you can try Code: | $ find /opt -name "vmware-config.pl" |

Try
Code: | emerge --config vmware-player |
Seems to be the replacement for the perl script.
Then restart the vmware service. _________________ Jingle Jangle Jewellery |

Done already as I wrote, but nothing. |

Removing the file did the trick. Thank you very much! Really appreciated. |
