I noticed at some point in the last 2 months that my /etc/modules.autoload.d directory is missing. When my system boots up, it does try to autoload a bunch of modules including nvidia, madwifi-ng and an alsa driver. How is the system doing that without an autoload file? Is there a new way of doing autoloading that I missed?
I noticed an /etc/modules.conf file that contained *some* modules, mostly alsa modules so I don't think that is being used.
there are several files in the /etc/modprobe.d directory. I am inclined to believe that is the location of the autoload modules and they are split into individual files but that does not seem straight forward for adding/removing modules. Can any one point me to current documentation about how to configure kernel autoload modules?
I have not been maintaining this system for a while. Any help would be appreciated. |

when you upgrade to openrc, the file moved to /etc/conf.d/modules, check it. _________________ AMD FX-8300 / Loongson-2f (lemote-yeeloong) |
