hello all,
recently i purchased a TP-LINK TL-WN620G USB wireless card. I have installed the windows drivers via ndiswrapper, and they have picked up that there is a device present. However, the card will not start. the output from lsusb is:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0cf3:0002 Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5523 (no firmware)
So, i am assuming that i am missing something from my kernel. I tried the card on my desktop (running mandriva) installed the drivers on ndiswrapper, and away it went. (the output from lsusb was the same as the gentoo output, except without the no firmware in brackets). So, to make sure that my laptop actually supported the card, i downloaded and installed a copy of mandriva for my laptop. And sure enough, the card works like a charm. However, i do not like mandriva at all, in fact one could say i loath it. So my question is, does someone know how i can get this card to work in gentoo?
Thanks |
