"I would like to know if there is a way to test the transfer speed of a particular network interface?" It's a real vague question, you need to supply more details.
Lan<->Lan
Lan<-WAN->Lan
Lan-<->Internet
Believe it or not, the best way I have found to test out links is to setup a bunch of torrents. There's lots of software out there to help you determine the speed of your link, but if you setup 2 systems to serve the files and then 1 to pull, you will get a great real world example. Of course, this all depends on what you want to test. I was able to max out 2 ds3's using that setup, the network team was in disbelief. |

I have multiple WAN interfaces on my server. And now I would like to test the speed of ONLY one of them. I doesn't have to be the exact speed, In fact I just want to connect through it (because it should be noticeably faster than the other ones). So maybe it's better to say: "How can I force the use of a speciffied interface?" Of course disabling the others or changing the routing table is out of question. |

Do all adapters have the same IP? Are they all on the same subnet? Are they all on the same switch?
Do you have control of the switches or routers? Perhaps you could do something based on the MAC?
You need to provide more details. |
