Hi,

since I reinstalled my gentoo box, I have some problems I hadn't before ('cause I first configured it with a guru-friend of mine 8) )

I installed NetworkManager, and I want all my network interfaces to be managed by it (it's a laptop). I created a net.eth0 link though, and since udev tries to manage it, and dhcpcd tries to make an IP request for this interface... and it's really long : should I delete this link ? Is there a way to forbid udev to do that ?

Another problem : NetworkManager is really verbose at startup, is there a way to make it far more silent ?

Thanx for your answers !

emerge ifplug or netplug to manage the wired link with net.eth0.
Or, if you use dhcpcd, background it by passing the -b option.
