Hi there,
Prelude:
I'm a bit pissed right now, for I seem to have every single problem ever to have been reported on my Laptop:
HP Compaq nx6325
I have read the wiki-archived article for this pc - didn't help at all.
The Problem:
I can't get my "ATI-Technologies Inc IXP SB4x0 High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)" (this is what lspci says) to work.
I configured the Kernel (2.6.26) to use ALSA, not OSS and checked the "ATI IXP modem" driver (I guess that should be the right one...) but alsaconfig won't find a pci-card and the mute-key on my keyboard keeps shining...
The soundcard is definetly ok, it even worked from a LinuxFromScratch livecd -> maybe someone could help me, I'd gladly apprechiate it.

have you tried the "ATI IXP AC97 Controller" driver? sounds more like the right one. if you don't have that option, maybe you can upgrade your kernel to 2.6.27. |

No, doesn't help... How to upgrade to kernel 2.6.27?
I know there is a new kernel, but my emerge doesn't seem to find one...
PS: I am using an AMD64 and x86_64
