I've noticed in my dmesg that my root (ext4) fs is mounting with errors. I did the trusty old 'touch /forcefsck' and rebooted and fsck didn't run, though the /forcefsck file was removed. I then tried 'shutdown -r -F now' and again, no fsck at all on reboot. I check my rc-update list and I do have the fsck initscript at the boot run-level....no problems there. I'm running openrc, but it worked before....so I don't think that is it. Anybody have any ideas? |

Ok, I found the problem...forcefsck is working, but aborting the second it hit's any errors. I think the newest util-linux changed the behavior of fsck, so it aborts with the options it's given in the openrc fsck init script. |

I'm having trouble where fsck isn't happening at shutdown. I wonder if this thread is still valid ? ...
Edit: I'm a moron, and didn't see the bug report |
