|
|
I'm running the x86 2008.0 minimal install cd. When I do
Code: |
dialog --infobox Hello 3 40; sleep 10
|
an infobox appears, but the bottom background line is black instead of blue and a small cursor is blinking at the bottom left. How do I keep the background intact (bottom line blue)? |

Not a bottom background line-- your program has run and 'slept' for ten seconds and then ended, reverting to the terminal command line.

Don't think you can with an infobox unless you set sleep to infinity (not a good idea); there are other forms that may be what you want.
Running the example code at http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/2807 , a dialog tutorial, will give a quick show of assorted forms. |

Hm. It's ugly when I use it in a script, followed by something that takes time. Fortunately, the longest part of the script is handled by a gauge dialog, which doesn't exit until 100% is reached. |

This may give the effect you want:
Code: | dialog --infobox Hello 3 40; sleep 10;exit; |
works neatly in GUI
or
Code: | dialog --infobox Hello 3 40; sleep 10;dialog --clear; |
puts message up for 10 secs, then returns to clean terminal command line |

The black lines do not appear if I run it in, say gnome-terminal or if I'm using a framebuffer console. I don't know if I'm using the right terminology but in 80x25 mode I get black lines, in more fancy consoles I don't). |
