I have the following partition scheme:
sda1 > /
sda4 > /home
sda5 > swap
There is an ntfs partition in the middle preventing me to create a partition for boot, so I decided to skip it. But now I dont find a way to install grub, grub-install fails with an error that says Could not find device for /boot: Not found or not a block device. Can somebody point me in the right direction here? _________________ Game programming news for newbies | The Ark, making an RPG the right way! |

Since your /boot is not separate, make sure you delete any lines mentioning /boot from /etc/fstab and /etc/mtab. |

Once you remove the lines defining /boot from /etc/fstab and /etc/mtab like cyrillic mentioned, you would then just use the / partition (sda1 in your case). GRUB shouldn't have any problem doing that. If it does, please post an error message. _________________ “Truth, like infinity, is to be forever approached but never reached.” --Jean Ayres (1972)
