any ideas? (aside from upgrading my kernel... stop telling me to do that. it's really annoying. )

thanks

Does the radeon module from your rather ancient kernel work ?

That would at least allow you to get rid of the external x11-drm module.

I'm guessing you have an r3xx or r4xx Radeon (one of the not-so-well-supported ones) ?

Most of my machines have r1xx or r2xx Radeons, and I also have one r5xx Radeon. All of them have working 3D and video playback acceleration using the kernel's radeon module.

mobility radeon 9700, i think it's an rv350. too lazy to check. either way, both drivers leak memory like a sieve. i was hoping that the x11-drm upgrade would help a little. :?
