This is my Second and Final survey regarding Internet connections used in your gentoo linux.

What is the 'Type of Net Connection'?

(1) Dial-UP
(2) Cable with static IP
(3) Cable with Dynamic IP (dhcp)
(4) ADSL
(5) ISDN
(6) Other(specify)

right now with sympatico. Planing to switch to AEI soon as they don't have a download / upload limit on there normal plan. 1.2Mb down

I download too much fansub and too much linux to live with a cap, lol

(4) I have Verizon DSL here. It's alright, nothing too fancy. It tops out at 1.3 Mbps down.

3) but the dhcp server always assigned me the same ip so i`ve made it static ;)

3. Comcast Cable. I think it's somewhere along the lines of 1.5mbit down, 256kbit up.

AFAIK Xs4all was the first ISP for consumers instead of business :)

(4) ADSL NTT Flet's 8mbps/1mbps


just for the info, I just stumbled accross a press release from NTT and they will soon offer 24mbps ADSL !! I dunno what trick they use to achieve that, though (since the max theorical speed from ADSL is 8mbps ...)
