on boot and shutdown I have errors involving the system clock on dell's inspiron 530n

Code:
 * Cannot access the Hardware Clock via any known method.

I'm getting the same problem; is there still no solution?

https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=251453 not really, there is an open bug though. I've listed a couple workarounds there.

short of it is compile rtc-cmos in or statically load it. see bug for discussion and other options.

Yeah, I found a solution, to load rtc-cmos at boot. Thanks
