I recently moved my gentoo partitions from a failing hard drive to another hard drive. I am now getting a failure from grub saying "grub geom error".

I suspect that the problem is that my boot partition is now (way) beyond the first 32 GB of the hard disk and that my HPT 370 ide controller on my abit KT7-raid motherboard doesn't have support with its current bios version for 48 bit addressing.

If this were the case is the "grub geom error" a likely symptom?
