I'm trying to install 2008.0 from the big livecd on a Virtual PC (host is Vista Enterprise). The CD boots, and the kernel decompresses and loads, the screen resizes to a larger resolution (1024x768, I think), but stays black forever after that. I tried booting the nofb kernel, and there's a kernel trap of some kind. See the attached image for that output.
Any help is appreciated.

from what I could tell, linux support in VPC is spotty at best (i read through some channel 9 threads about it -- some claimed they had ubuntu and fedora core working in -- others not so much).
VPC seems to be lagging behind the rest of the virtualization world... how about trying vmware or virtual box? the latter is very nice, under linux at least. |
