If I start my server with monitor or keyboard attached, it can boot normally every time.
However, If I start my server without any peripheral hardware, it will just keep restarting without entering module loading stage.(I know this because sometimes even if I attach the monitor, the same problem happens, so I can see where the boot process exactly stops)
And I can have the server reboot successfully every time with or without peripheral hardware.
Did any one ever have a similar problem?
Is this have something to do with the kernel itself? _________________ I like my G! |

Have you checked /var/log/messages for errors?
Boot your server without peripherals. Switch it off and boot again with monitor and kbd. Then check the log for errors. aybe you get a hint what causes the problem. |

thank you for replying.
Yes, I have checked the /var/log/message file.
But, unfortunately, the boot process had not gone to the step for logging any messages, so I cannot find any clue there.
Any ideas? _________________ I like my G! |

follow this link you can get some ideas. |
Thanks for this hint. I think maybe my BIOS is the type that cannot boot without monitor or keyboard.
But I'll try the text console to see whether it is the case or not. _________________ I like my G! |
