I am trying to network my machines with afp because Its the best solution being I have some macs on the net and samba is so frustrating it will drive a man to an early grave. All works well except atalkd. When I try to start it, I get a bunch of errors all referring to me missing module appletalk. Now, if this is a kernel module, I have no clue where it is in the sources, I looked all over. Any help would be greatly appreciated _________________ waka waka

If you do cd /usr/src/linux; make xconfig
and look under Networking Options, you'll find Appletalk Protocol support. Select module and it should build you a nice appletalk.o module. |

Mr. "Tough Pants" me thought I knew every option there was in a kernel build. Whoops, I was looking in File Systems under the net stuff where smb and nfs are, which why appletalk is not there is beyond me but oh well.
Thanks Again _________________ waka waka

Actually I spoke to soon. I am using development sources and have been for some time. I did a quick find . -name apple* in the source tree and found two appletalk directorys but I cannot find the option for this in .config at all. Where would it be in the menuconfig or what is the option for it in .config?
-EDIT-
FOUND IT
Hidden very well under Network Support->Networking Options->ANSI IEEE .... (appletalk ... ) _________________ waka waka
