Well, here's the thing
I emerged k3b, and ran its setup proggy. I made come permissions changes in the process, as detailed on the final page of the config, but nothing that I could see breaking the system. Now, whenever I try to mount a disc, I get:
Code: |
mount /mnt/cdrom
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdroms/cdrom0,
or too many mounted file systems
|
Doing it without fstab:
Code: |
mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom
mount: block device /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdroms/cdrom0,
or too many mounted file systems
|
Suggestions?! It was working perfectly before I ran this, and I'm not sure what to do.. :-/ |

Er, small addition. This is what k3bsetup claims to change:
Code: |
These are the permission changes K3b Setup will perform and why:
change permission for cdrecord, mksiofs, and cdrdao to 4710
add cdrecord, mkisofs, and cdrdao to group 'cdrecording'
add the selected users to group 'cdrecording'
change permission for all detected SCSI drives to 660
change permission for all detected ATAPI drives to 620
add all detected devices to group 'cdrecording'
