I'm running a 2.6.27-gentoo-r4 kernel. Should my linux-headers package also be a 2.6.27 then? |

Kobboi,
Not always, no.
The kernel-headers package provides a stable interface to build things against that need kernel symbols.
Thats mostly glibc. You don't always want to use headers from the kernel you happen to be running. _________________ Regards,

The installed kernel-headers should always be the sanitised version with respect to which glibc is built, according to LFS. |
