loftwyr,
Thanks much. I assume your running pure 64bit.
I notice you have "CONFIG_BLK_DEV_AMD74XX is not set" in your config.
I thought that was the only support in the kernel, and would have to do, as I can find no kernel support for any 780 or 790 amd chipset, and it's various items.
I'll be building a kernel for the AMD 790GX and SB750 chipset, (or maybe not if I can't figure out what to enable in kernel config ) After hours of googling, I did finally discover that for the built in gigabit LAN using the Realtek RTL8111C-VCO-GR chip that the r8169 (r8168) driver that's in the kernel was fixed as of 7-21-08, and is reported to work, so I'll try that.
As far as basic support for 780G or 790GX AMD boards, SATA support for AMD, etc.I'm still at a loss. I thought AMD76XX had to be it, but since you don't have it enabled for your 780 board, I guess not. If i can't figure out anything else, I'll try your config (without the 64bit stuff, of course). Board should be here in a few more days.
BTW, which 780 board is that you have. with the SB600 it must be a little older than what I ordered.
Anyway, thanks again for all the help, and linking your kernel config. _________________ Main box- AsRock x370 Gaming K4

SATA will be ACPI support as that's the standard that all 7XX chipsets support. _________________ My emerge --info
Have you run revdep-rebuild lately? It's in gentoolkit and it's worth a shot if things don't work well.
