|
|
Hi, I recently installed gentoo for the first time and everything looked good, I noticed gnome had a "hibernate" option so I used it, the laptop shutdown and I assumed all was fine until I tried to boot the laptop today..
Now when I boot on either the 2.2.26-r4 or 2.2.27-r7 kernel the following happens:
* udev uses addon code which is deprecated
* and may not be avaible in the future
* Mounting /dev..
/lib/rcscripts/addons/udev-start.sh: line 26: _start: command not found
* ERROR: udev failed to start
Then:
Checking local file systems ...
fsck.ex4: No such file or directory when trying to open /dev/sda3
mount: specail device /dev/sda1 does not exsist
* some local file systems failed to mount
* Setting console font to [default8x16]
Couldn't open /dev/tty2
Couldn't open /dev/tty3 and so on up to tty12
* ERROR: console font failed to start
*Activating swap devices...
swapon: cannot stat /dev/sda2: No such file or directory
* udev uses addon code which is deprecated
* and may not be avaible in the future
* Mounting /dev..
/lib/rcscripts/addons/udev-start.sh: line 26: _start: command not found
* ERROR: udev failed to start
* ERROR: urandom failed to start
Then at the login prompt (which shouldnt be there cause it should have started x) I see after a few mins
INIT: Id "c6" spawning roo fast: disabled for 5minutes
INIT: Id "c3" spawning roo fast: disabled for 5minutes
INIT: Id "c2" spawning roo fast: disabled for 5minutes
If I look at udev_start.sh I can see the _start command, commenting this out makes udev start ok but startx still fails? |
