upon booting into linux through lilo i receive an error
pased an undefined mode number
press <ENTER> ...... or <SPACE> to contine or wait 30seconds
upon pressing space gentoo then loads properly |

you probably set the wrong number in option:
vga=xxx in lilo.conf. try vga=1 (as i remember it's 80x25 text mode)
maybe you want to use framebuffer and pass wrong videomode code in vga=xxx (i have vga=0x317 there - 1024x768x16bit - you can find more info here: http://www.ibiblio.org/mdw/HOWTO/Framebuffer-HOWTO-5.html
also it's possible you don't have appropriate modules compiled

My guess would be that you have selected an invalid vga mode in /etc/lilo.conf ..
Try commenting vga="foo" out using a # .. then write lilo to mbr using the /sbin/lilo command..
Edit: A little slow there, krusty_ar allready posted _________________ If you do something right once, someone will ask you to do it again. |

Yeas thanks i just change vga=795 to vga=791 in lilo.conf and it fixed it thanks. |
