I must get this card running, still trying ... I'm now running 2.6.27-r7, ALSA as a module, and emerged the xfi-drivers. After removing the onboard snd_hda_intel module and loading the ctxfi drivers, here's what I end up with.
Code: |
# lsmod
Module Size Used by
ctxfi 52648 0
snd_seq 50336 0
snd_seq_device 8660 1 snd_seq
snd_pcm_oss 26272 0
snd_mixer_oss 16512 1 snd_pcm_oss
nvidia 7800168 26
i2c_core 22880 1 nvidia
snd_pcm 65480 2 ctxfi,snd_pcm_oss
snd_timer 21776 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd 54984 7 ctxfi,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_timer
soundcore 8736 1 snd
snd_page_alloc 10000 1 snd_pcm

After loading the X-Fi drivers ...
This appears in my /var/log/messages ...
Code: |
Jan 2 14:53:32 Storm ctatc: Card not recognised
Jan 2 14:53:32 Storm CTALSA: probe of 0000:06:00.0 failed with error -2
|
I'm starting to think the card that I have really isn't being recognized and that the card id or something about this card is different than the normal X-Fi cards which people have running. This card is a SB Fatal1ty that's enclosed in the black mesh like casing on the card, and also has the front face plate panel w/ jacks and lights. Though I thought the card would be the same.
I've read somewhere's, but can no longer find it, that the vendor:device id as shown below (2nd line ... [1102:0043]) isn't what's in the code and that most dev id's for this card are 42 or something, but I can't verify any of this. Anyone have ideas what I could try to get this card recognized?

Hey Wizumwalt,
i had the same problem, although with a slightly different card (X-FI Titanium).
I've written a short guide which worked for me. It's a bit, uhm well, 'unconventional', but you can stick to it until Creative fix their drivers.
I hope this will help you
P.S.: The post you were looking for is the one above mine |
