Is there a difference between Ad-Hoc and Master Modes?
I have successfully put an old 11b WiFi Card (an old WMP11v4) into Ad-Hoc mode and it's functioning well as an AP.
I'm just wondering. |

Master mode is when you want to create an Access Point to other pc.
And Ad-Hoc mode is when you Access Point can be use with other Pcs and you can still use your Wifi card I think and you can share documents from the Pcs that are connected to the AP.
You can think a ad-hoc is a local p2p. |

Just wondering..
I'm using an old WMP11v4 in Ad-Hoc mode as an access point.
..just have to add a DHCP server and set your firewall correctly.. It's working well as an AP. |

True. I did also ad-hoc mode and combined this with some simple routing - I got AP. Neverthless -
is there a way to setup WPA2 PSK encryption and key through net.* scripts?
Simba7 have you did this or used it without encryption at all? |
