SDHC card works on 2.6.25, not on 2.6.27 [solved]

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop with a SD/MMC/MS slot. I recently bought a microSDHC card for my cell phone. I plugged it (via an included adapter) into the SDHC slot and was able to read the contents of the card. Here's output from dmesg:

I tried a few days ago and the kernel no longer notices insertion of the card. I traced it to my recent kernel upgrade: It works under gentoo-sources-2.6.25-r7 but not under gentoo-sources-2.6.27-r7. I've grubbed around in the .config files but haven't found anything obvious.

Any ideas? TIA.

I trawled through the kernel sources for the card reader model (from lspci) and found the right option. I've rebuilt and rebooted and it works again. I wanted to document it here for the next person's search. :D

Here's the 2.6.27-r7 kernel diff:
