Hi,
got a annoying problem with my fbsplash. I set it up like described on spock's site and fbsplash is working so far. My only problem is that fbsplash wont start before my file system is mounted, in detail, after /dev/shm is mounted.
Graphics is Intel 945 GMA, System freshly set up on x86 with an 2.6.28 kernel (testing tree). Oh, I got the boot logo compiled into the kernel. Resolution is working perfectly right after grub loaded the kernel image and the initrd.
Any hope for me to get the splash started right after grub?
Thanks,
Mike

I don't know if it's your problem but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere to specifically NOT include the boot logo (at least when using fbsplash iirc).
if it isn't, could this be some initrd problem like inadequate or incompatible kernel settings (wrt fbsplash), fbsplash imgs inappropriate for the kernel you're running, etc.?
I set mine up so long ago and never have problems (use verbose and starts pretty much right away) that I can't really think of anything more useful to suggest except guesses. your problem does ring a faint bell but sorry nothing else really pops to mind |

thanks for the hint...
Gonna check my kernel config for other fb devices than uvesafb and will remove the boot logo.
I think it cant be a problem of the wrong resolution since the native resolution is up and running right out of grub... |
