Hey!
Here's what I'm trying to do and am having a serious brain fart at the moment...
I have a machine that has Apache on it on a Fiber Line that gets it's IP from the ISP via DHCP. The ISP blocks TCP --> port 80 (like most do). I have Apache running on a high number port 23654 and have the router forward traffic to that. *BUT* internally, that's a pain. Can I have IOP tables forward requests of port 80 --> 23654 on that machine?
Am I making sense or am I digging myself deeper by not even explaining it right?
Internet:23654 --> Router --> Gimli:23654
Internal:80 --> Gimli:80 --> Gimli:23654
Can that work? _________________ I'm not a prophet or a stone-age man

This should be possible using either the REDIRECT or DNAT targets. |

I was playing with DNAT and FORWARD, but I didn't get far enough before preparing for the computer's first flight down a driveway and under the wheel of one of the salt trucks coming through to get to REDIRECT (I'm trying to quit smoking...).
Thanks, man. I'll give that a shot then. _________________ I'm not a prophet or a stone-age man
