I have a Logitech Communicate STX USB webcam that uses the gspca driver and works fine with kernel 2.6.26-gentoo-r4 but not with either 2.6.27-gentoo-r7 or 2.6.27-gentoo-r8. When I use a 2.6.27 kernel and Code: | # export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l1compat.so | I can get camorama to work. (This environment variable wasn't necessary with 2.6.26.) But skype gives the error Code: | ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l1compat.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
| How can I get it working with Skype?
Thanks.
[PARTIALLY_SOLVED] Skype is 32-bit but media-libs/libv4l is, of course, 64-bit on my AMD64 system. https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=244918 provides a way to compile a 32-bit libv4l which fixes Skype video on AMD64 systems. But I can't get audio to work. [/PARTIALLY_SOLVED] |
