Previously I've been using a good working combination of zen-sources-2.6.27rc (madwifi) + eee.ko + acpid + wifi-on-off script. All this worked perfectly and alt+f2 could easily turn wifi on and off.
Recently I decided to switch to more recent 28 kernel and installed 2.6.28-zen6. Here is where all my trouble start.
1. The inkernel modules don't work. I've tried ath5k and ath_pci. Although i've managed to get waln0 with ath5k it coluldn't detect any networks (but I've read on the web that ath5k work on very low speeds). So i've installed madwifi from trunk with patch for AR5007. No i get wifi working as previous. But
2. Alt+f2 can turn wifi off but then it doesn't turn ot on, because it is required to rmmod pciehp and then to modprobe it with force=1. Yep, I can modify the old script, but I cannot find a way to bind the execution of the script to Alt-f2
So can someone give me short tips on how I can make wifi work smoothly on Eeepc 701. Any help will be appreciated. |
