|
|
I've got a Compaq Evo 510 w/Intel pro100 nic that refuses to configure the card manually. Booting "gentoo nodhcp", the liveCD detects the card as eth0 and loads eepro100 as expected. It will pick up an address from DHCP ok, but there is no dhcp available on the subnet I have to install from. It doesn't matter if I run net-setup eth0 or type out the ifconfig statement on the command line, the result is the same - an unresponsive console. Other consoles are unaffected, but the ifconfig process never finishes. I have tried removing the eepro100 module and loading e100 instead, which has a similar effect; the insmod command never finishes.
Any ideas?
