i just installes gentoo. i have two network cards
. one to connect to a dsl modem and on for the LAN.
they are both rtl8139. eth0 is running smooh. but eth1 was killed.
i mean really. nothing can recognize what
card it is. i also tried it under windows. it says that it cant be started.
does anyone know what to do? |

Perhaps lightning got it. That happened to two of mine (plus a 5-port switch).
You might want to just get a cheap replacement. That's what I had to do. |

it is getting even more fucked up.
i tried both cards that didnt seem tow work
in another box(running suse 8.2) and...magic...the cards are recognized again.
i really dont understand what this is about.
ill try a new kernel built from the vanilla-sources now.
maybe this works better for me. |
