Hi,
I have a problem with a 1,5 terabyte HD:
If I create a partition with 1000GB, Gnome and xfce4 would automount the drive withour problems.
If I create a partition with 1,5TB, neither Gnome nor xfce4 would automount, but I can automount it manually with root and access the data.
Gnome creates a link to an USB drive but says it doesn't exists.
¿Anyone knows where to start looking? I think it has something to do with udev links.
Thanks.

I've been watching this question since you asked... i don't have that problem yet, but i suspect i'm about to.
the closest discussion i could find is here - and the final answer is to enable large block devices in the kernel (CONFIG_LBD=y). but i don't think that's right. i don't even have CONFIG_LBD in my 2.6.25 kernel, and i think 'large' means over 2TB anyway.
so if you work it out, i'd like to know... |

Thanks for the help, I tried that solution and it didn't do anything. Anyway, the LBD doesn't explains why I can mount it manually from the console. |

Solved using last version of hal with the "disk-partition" use flag. The disk was partitioned with parted. |
