Hello,

I am attempting to install kdebase-startkde-4.2 and am having and issue with akonadi-server-1.1.1. The build log is below. I am using gcc-4.3.3. Is there away of setting boost to have it detected properly

Here is the output of emerge -v boost

reinstall it anyway, it likely will fix the problem.

Have you run revdep-rebuild lately? It's in gentoolkit and it's worth a shot if things don't work well.

I reinstalled boost and I still get the same error any other suggestions?

Just try boost with all useflags, i cant recall but one package wanted expat useflag... just try :wink:

Hi,
Thanks, to everyone for the help I tried all the suggestions to no avail, I just skipped akonadi server and continued the kde-4.2 install seems to be okay so far. If anyone knows a way to install akonadi server I would appreciate the solution.

You need to add dev-libs/boost and dev-util/boost-build to /etc/portage/package.keywords and reemerge.

Hi,

I recompiled boost and boost-build and still I get the same error. Just an update after recompiling I did an eselect boost set 1(index of version of boost I installed) to set boost and now it works fine.
