Morning all.
I'm trying to work with a POP3 server over telnet to get the number of unread messages in my inbox. Getting the entire list is no problem, but I can't find a way to return only the ones marked as unread (or a count of them). Can anyone suggest anything? Many thanks. |

AFAIK POP3 does not have such a feature.
mail clients that fetch mails from a pop3 server tell you which emails you have already read of the already fetched mails.
IMAP knows about such things. |

I was a little afraid you might say that. Thanks for confirming it though |
