Hola.. después de terminar mi instalación con núcleo 2.6.28r1, portage 2.2r23 y xorg-x11-7.4 (que en teoria lo necesito para hacer funcionar la tableta dgitalizadora) al arrancar sistema me he quedado detenido en el login de kdm, ya que el teclado y el mouse no responden sobre las X...

Por lo que he leído éstos ya no deben aparecer en el xorg.conf, ya que van como módulos configurados a través de archivos xml (*.fdi).
La utilidad que acompaña al xorg para su configuración no está preparada para este nuevo sistema (que raro!) sino que sigue generando un xorg.conf común... Se que tengo que agregar evdev al make.conf, en "INPUT_DEVICE" pero no se si los drivers están emergidos.. hay que instalarlos.. ¿? ...

Encontré que en Arch Linux existe un script llamado hwd que ayuda en ese sentido.. pero no encuentro nada en gentoo en ese sentido.. Gracias y Saludos..

uy!! perdón por el post.. al parecer en el último link que dejé se encontraba la solución..

Fixed by adding

to the ServerFlags section of xorg.conf

Ya con eso parece funcionar el teclado, el mouse y.... si!!! la tableta digitalizadora (después de compilar el driver etc..)
el problema está en que el teclado funciona y no.. es decir, las letras parecen estar acertadas, el acento, la ñ y los caracteres que se hacer con la combinación "shift + algo" (como las comillas o los parentesis que acabo de poner) funcionan perfectamente, pero Alt Gr funciona como enter; la barra, el asterisco, las flechitas y la tecla intro del numpad no funcionan.. éstas son las que descubrí a primera vista, quizá haya otras que no funcionan.

Imagino que si ahora la configuracion se hace mediante los .fdi de hal te falte (sacado del primer enlace que pones del wiki de Arch):

copié el archivo que proponía opotonil y seguí obteniendo los mismos resultados... releí (se ve rarísimo.. será asi?) los enlaces y en el segundo vi esto:

Otra opción mas simple para los que tienen Gnome o KDE:
 KDE: System Settings: Regional & Language, Keyboard Layout: Enable Keyboard Layouts, seleccionar de la lista desplegable el que dice “Evdev-managed keyboard“.
 Gnome: Gnome System, Preferences, Keyboard dialog, seleccionar el modelo “Generic/Evdev-managed keyboard”


yo habia puesto el generic de 105 teclas.. en fin.. esa fué la solución... Gracias, procuraré leer más atentamente en la proxima. Saludos
