I've tried to modify the 2007.0 LiveDvd to remove the installers from the desktop (only). The resulting iso fails to mount the squash file. On the wiki, http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Build_Your_Own_LiveCD_or_LiveDVD , I found this:
Quote: | Note: Be sure that squashfs-tools and in-kernel driver have equal versions, otherwise it might refuse to mount.

I'm using squashfs-tools-3.3 and genkernel-x86_64-kernel 2.6.19-gentoo-r5 which is unmodified. How can I find out what version of squashfs-tools goes with what kernel? I couldn't find any mention of this at sourceforge. A google search found a forum entry that recommended using squashfs-tools-2.2 but every available ebuild is 3.x
Do I have to regenerate the entire LiveDvd using catalyst to make a minor modification? IIRC the developers gave up trying to do a wholesale update. |
