I didn't know where to post this...(Games or here). So I just chose hardware since it is related I suppose.
Anyways, I am not using gentoo, I have Sabayon 4 Lite MCE installed with KDE 4.2 and lovin it so far.
I am having an issue with one joystick (more of a gamepad). It is a Madcatz XBOX360 controller with a USB plug. If I plug it in, it is recognized as indicated by the KDE joystick settings. However it causes the mouse to seizure and sends it to the center of the monitor. I cannot control the mouse and the joystick can move the mouse pointer.
I also have two RedOctane XBOX guitars that work fine. And a Logitech Wingmn 3D force feedback joystick that I have not tested but I imagine it will work.
Also, I have noticed that if I leave the madcatz plugged in from a cold boot. It causes the sound to be removed. I believe I have fixed that by reinstalling alsaconf.
Does anyone have any help for the madcatz issue please? I appreciate any help!
*Also, why isn't there nestopia for gentoo? I have tried some of the others but they are too slow. Any other recommendations?
Thank you! |

Add/update this file:
/etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-x11-input.fdi
Code: | <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<deviceinfo version="0.2">
<device>
<match key="info.product" string="Generic X-Box pad">
<remove key="info.capabilities" type="strlist">input.mouse</remove>
<append key="info.capabilities" type="strlist">input.joystick</append>
<remove key="input.x11_driver" type="string"></remove>
</match>
</device>
</deviceinfo> |
The problem is that xorg / hal / udev recognize it as a pointing device, so xorg automatically sets it up as a mouse with evdev, which prevents any other program from using it. |
