Hi, I am having issues trying to get my TV tuner working. I know for a fact analog isn't working, but I can't tell if digital works or not, it acts like it can't ever find a signal(this is QAM, btw), but I have a feeling some other brokenness could be to blame. Here is the relevant snippet of dmesg:

Code:

tda829x 1-0042: type set to tda8295
tda18271 1-0060: attaching existing instance

Everything looks fine, I can't figure it out. The only suspect line is
Code:
cx25840' 1-0044: 0x0000 is not a valid video input!
but I am unsure how to proceed. Trying to run cat /dev/video, mplayer tv://, or tvtime all fail complaining that the operation is not permitted. I am running the pvrusb2 module from gentoo-sources-2.6.28. I have all the firmware files, or am pretty sure I do, the driver doesn't complain about anything. What should I do?

I suggest trying vanilla sources. If that doesn't work, post to the prvusb2 mailing list. The list is very helpful.

I'll give it a shot I suppose, but what is so different about the vanilla sources?
