|
|
when using ass subs in mplayer the letter appear spaced and this causes the sub to tak up much more area on the video.
for example the same subtitle line in windows using one line of text while in linux it takes up two lines. i don't know if i am missing something in the mplayer config or if its a bug of some kind.
any answers are appreciated.
thanks. _________________ ~AMD64

the subs do display in the ass format shadows colors etc but the letters have that space between them. _________________ ~AMD64

That could be a font or encoding problem. _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

thanks for the idea.
i just tried switching the encoding and font in mplayer but neither worked. it seems the non ass subs display fine.
EDIT:
running mplayer from konsole displayed this Code: | [ass] fontconfig: Selected font is not the requested one: 'IPAGothic' != 'Tolkien' |
it turns out whoever made these subs used a rather obscure set of fonts i extracted the subs from the mkv and i lists some non standard fonts
i guess don't have the fonts listed in the ass file i get the space issue. i manged to get most of the fonts listed in the file so now thing a better.
thanks for helping. _________________ ~AMD64
