Hallo, I have an Asus Crosshair motherboard and I recently changed my memory sticks.
My old memory sticks were 4 sticks of Corsair cm2x512A-6400 and my new memory is 4 sticks of cm2x2048-6400C5.
After that, when I boot my computer and give some tasks to deliver it freezes after a while.
I thaught it was the memory so ... I booted to memtest86. After a while the box freezed.
I changed the memory and put back the old ... the box freezed.***
I opened the case, extracted everything and put it back in after cleaning the cpu and adding some brand new thermal grease ...
I booted to console (no X at all) and gave the same task to execute. System froze again but before doing so ... I received a couple of error screens. I tried to copy the last one to another computer. I did it bu hand so I ommited all the addresses and hexadecimal signs ...
EDIT: *** I reputed the old memory back and it worked like a charm. Now I am testing to see if any of the new memory cartriges is faulty ... I will report back.

It was a faulty cartrige ... When I put it alone on my box ... the box would not even boot!
I hope the retail store will not have any problem giving me a new one ...
