Salve, ho installato gentoo 1.4 su un pc partendo da stage1, ho voluto aggiungere il bootsplash all'avvio ora faccio emerge di cio che mi serve secondo il doc, ma quando vado a dare rc-update add bootsplash defaul mi esce fuori un

Ovviamente del bootsplash manco l'ombra ma la risoluzione funziona

Ovvio il bootsplash non crentra con la risoluzione del boot quela è selezionata dal bootloader.
Per quanto riguarda l'errore al 90% è perchè non è patchato il kernel

aggiornamento, il bootspslash funge, ma l'errore rimane, addirittura compare anche al boot dopo caching service dependencies.
Che vuol dire che il kernel non e' patchato? patchato per cosa?

www.bootsplash.org =) il bootsplash è un programma ke lavora sotto livello kernel e ha bisogno di alcune funzioni da attivare 1° e secondo il kernel deve essere modificato in un certo modo perhcè funzioni e nn basta attivare delle cose o modularle c'è bisogno di una modifica a livello di codice ti suggerisco quindi di usare il kernel 2.4.20-r4 della gentoo. è già patchato devi solo aggiungere le cose di cui a bisogno bootsplash. Comunque c'è un'ottima quida qui

un'altra cosa il kernel gentoo oltre ad essere già patchato per moltissime cose è pratikamente uguale al 2.4.22 =) dato che è costruito sulla base del 2.4.20 ma patchato con tutta la roba del 2.4.22

Non ci siamo capiti  , quell'errore durante rc-update mi e' capitato anche quando ho aggiunto gpm e sshd quindi non c'azzecca nula col kernel, le patch sono gia' applicate e infatti il bootsplash funziona alla perfezione.
Altra cosa, come faccio ad usare il driver per FB aty128fb?
nelle opzioni del kernel devo abilitare sia il vesa che il driver ati?
ora ci sono entrambi ma pare che usi solo il vesa pur passando l'esatta stringa a grub ma senza yywrap e mtrr se la metto non funge una mazza

Sara' il caldo, e anche qualche additivo naturale  ho trovato l'ighippo, avevo messo per errore disc1_args="-d1" dentro a /etc/conf.d/hdparm quando ho un solo disco e non 2
mea culpa!
