I think it is a mistake to compile Tcl/Tk with --threads as default. Threads-support is still experimental and destroy programs that use pipes (for example "scid", which I happen to like). Please consider removing that switch in the future. It was not exactly easy trying to figure out why scid suddenly did not work ..
