| I recently acquired an old IBM Netfinity 5000 server (dual 550mhz p3's, 1152mb ram). I was wondering if anyone else on here had installed gentoo on one of these or a similiar system. This server seems to be picky now and then so i wanted to see if there are any glitches and there respective workarounds while i get gentoo downloaded. Thx in advance. |

to my surprise I only had to chroot back into it once to get it going... compiled the wrong net card driver in the kernel.. now i guess its time to see how fast i can mess it up ....
so just to answer my own question and those who may ask in the future -
there are no issues when installing gentoo (2008.0) on a netvista 5000, all drivers needed are there, and i get no weird kernel messages.. |
