Hiya,
I've been messing with one of those Netpliance I-Openers, and rather than going the traditional route of mounting a laptop hard drive inside of it, I want to create an image with a kernel and the bare minimum applications and libraries to NFS mount the rest of its filesystems from another computer on the network...does anyone have any tips about how I could go about this? I know about Etherboot and the LTSP project, but I can't quite figure out how to throw in the linux-wlan-ng drivers to make my wireless USB network card work (I know how to get the adapter to work, normally, so that's not the issue =P) ... so...I thought I'd try and roll my own image...has anyone done anything like this? Thanks! =) |

There is some documentation about LTSP and the I-Opener at http://www.ltsp.org/documentation/iopener.php

I don't think there is any way to use etherboot on a usb device, but you can make a mini image using midori and chroot to the nfs mount.
