Are you using a font that has those glyphs? Are locale and character encoding correct?

I don't know how to check what font I am using in either. in fx it's lucida typewriter but I think that's only for web sites. I deleted the locale file because it f-ed up everything. now at least konqueror and yakuake and konsole and whatever displays the glyphs properly. encoding is utf-8.
