I downloaded the vanilla-sources and installed them first without devfs it worked, but on startup gentoo complained. So I recompiled with devfs but after I reboot I got an error "enable to mount root device"
How can I solve this ?

the installation guild said unless you a expert, you should have devfs included and automated in your kernel configuration. _________________ I do what I want, and that's what I do.

This doesn't really help me, I realise that I need devfs so I recompiled my kernel with devfs support (didn't give any kernel parameters or anything like that) and I got that error .... so my question is what could it been that I've done wrong ? |
